OVERALL PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE
To research, conceptualize and develop new or complex
technologies and their applications. Be involved with project
definition and implementation at the process level. Act as a
technical resource to projects, to lead software design and
research efforts and mentor junior developers. Independently
applies a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the
development, operation and maintenance of software with the ability
to lead more junior developers.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Read and evaluate RFP’s and
Proposals
Train and oversee more junior Software
Developers
Research, define, present and recommend software
designs and/or alternative strategies
Lead team in determining customer requirements and
assists team in providing customer solutions
Perform critical design reviews
Handle any area of the system as an expert without
assistance and analyze and become productive in an unfamiliar area
with only minimal assistance from co-developers
Acts as key technical resource (Technical Lead) to
other developers and project leaders. Effectively interfaces with
other organizations of the company and acts as a liaison or contact
point on both technical and non-technical matters.
Expert proficiency in Software Maintenance
Advanced proficiency in Software Requirements,
Software Design, Software Engineering Tools & Methods Software
Engineering Quality, Software Construction and Software
Testing
Assumes and performs additional duties and
responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate degree or college diploma in Computer
Science/IT or sufficient related education
A minimum of five years of software development work
experience.
Strong SQL skills (DB2 preferred)
Stored procedures development for use in report
generation
SQL Optimization
Views, triggers, stored procedures
Database administration
Familiarity working in a Linux/command line
environment
JIRA or similar software process tool
Perforce or similar source control
experience
